About the International Centre for Collective Resilience
The International Centre for Collective Resilience (ICFCR) was founded by psychologist and social entrepreneur Dr. Rotem Regev to address the evolving needs of professionals navigating trauma in complex identity and cultural contexts.
Rooted in evidence-based research, clinical experience, and systems-level insight, ICFCR develops training, consultation, and tools that support long-term resilience for individuals and institutions alike. Our flagship offering, The CHAI Method™, has been recognized for its relevance to Jewish mental health professionals and its applicability to broader communities navigating collective trauma and cultural marginalization.
As we grow, ICFCR is committed to building an evidence-based ecosystem of resources for educators, healthcare providers, and organizational leaders who are ready to meet this moment with clarity, compassion, and courage.

Meet the Founder
Dr. Rotem Regev, R.Psych.
Founder | Psychologist | Practitioner-Scholar | Community Builder
Dr. Rotem Regev, R.Psych., is a Registered Psychologist in British Columbia and the founder of the International Centre for Collective Resilience (ICFCR). Based in Vancouver, she brings over 15 years of clinical, academic, and community leadership experience to her work with individuals, professionals, and institutions navigating trauma and systemic adversity.
A Proven Track Record of Building from Vision to Impact
Rotem is a serial founder driven by a deep commitment to identifying unmet needs and building systems to meet them. In 2016, she founded Mamatefet, the first Hebrew-speaking, volunteer-run peer support network for new mothers in Vancouver, which continues to thrive today. This early initiative exemplifies her lifelong ethos: creating care structures where none exist. She brings this same strategic clarity, grounded empathy, and executional skill to her current work at ICFCR.
Practitioner First. Scholar Always.
With a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Victoria and advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Rotem grounds her work in evidence-based practice while remaining deeply attuned to lived experience. She coined the term Compounded Traumatic Reality™ to describe the layered burden faced by therapists who are simultaneously supporting their communities and living through the same collective trauma-often without institutional support. Her inquiries are practitioner-led: born in the field, tested in the field, and refined through community dialogue.
Her clinical work is shaped by years of public training, facilitation, and professional presentations.
Creator of the CHAI Method™
Rotem developed the CHAI Method™, a four-part trauma-informed framework (Connect, Honour, Activate, Integrate) that synthesizes clinical expertise, cultural identity, and collective resilience. The CHAI Method™ guides therapists, institutions, and communities in responding to trauma while fostering strength and belonging.
Rooted in Community, Responsive to the Moment
Originally from Israel and shaped by transnational experiences, Rotem brings a bicultural lens and a strong Jewish communal identity to all aspects of her work. She is a sought-after speaker, consultant, and trainer on topics including collective trauma, resilience, antisemitism, and identity-responsive care. She has led retreats, designed training programs, and advised organizations across North America.
Born in Israel to Israeli parents and a third-generation Holocaust survivor, Dr. Regev carries a lineage of resilience that deeply informs her work. Having moved between Israel and Canada throughout her life, first as the daughter of immigrants, and later as an immigrant herself, she brings a dual Israeli-Canadian perspective and serves as a cultural bridge in her professional roles.
Dr. Regev has authored academic articles, book chapters, and invited reports, and has delivered numerous lectures and presentations across North America. Her work has been recognized with competitive research fellowships and professional awards.
