Introducing the CHAI Method™

A Framework for Resilience, Identity Affirmation, and Collective Healing
The CHAI Method™ equips professionals and organizations to:

  • Rebuild clinical presence and emotional capacity
  • Affirm identity and reduce professional isolation
  • Develop adaptive responses at both personal and institutional levels
  • Foster long-term sustainability

Developed by psychologist and social entrepreneur Dr. Rotem Regev, the CHAI Method™ is an evidence-based, theory-driven, identity-affirming model designed to help professionals and institutions respond effectively to the emotional, cultural, and systemic dimensions of trauma.

Rooted in leading trauma research, culturally responsive care, and experiential practice, the CHAI Method™ offers a clear, adaptable process for fostering professional sustainability, identity affirmation, and collective healing in the face of Compounded Traumatic Reality™.

A New Kind of Reality Requires a New Kind of Response

In the aftermath of October 7 and rising antisemitism, many Jewish mental health professionals in the diaspora are navigating what we call Compounded Traumatic Reality™ - a convergence of collective grief, identity-based fear, antisemitism, systemic invalidation, and professional isolation. This layered experience impacts clinical presence, workplace functioning, and long-term well-being.

Facing Complexity with Evidence and Cultural Responsiveness

Meeting this moment requires more than wellness initiatives or individual resilience. It calls on both professionals and institutions to engage with the full complexity of trauma, identity erasure, and loss of safety - especially when the professionals themselves are affected. This engagement must be rooted in evidence-based research, grounded theory, and the enduring wisdom of Jewish tradition.
